About Dr. Turner
I am a licensed psychologist by the California Board of Psychology (PSY28721) and credentialed Health Service Psychologist (registrant 55421) residing in Los Angeles. Being licensed and having this credential means that I have training and experience in the delivery of prevention, consultation, assessment, and treatment for psychological concerns and mental health disorders. I have also completed a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy intensive training certification course, which is an evidence-based treatment modality that you can read more about here.
I am affirming of the LGBTQIA community, with specialization in providing exposure therapy for anxiety disorders, including fears, phobias, OCD, panic attacks, and PTSD.
I pride myself on my warm, supportive, open-minded, flexible, and creative approach to therapy. I value my clients and their well-being above all else. You can read more about my approach to therapy on my Services page.
I also currently serve as the Outreach Coordinator and a Staff Psychologist at a local university. I grew up in Kentucky and received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Sexuality Studies from Western Kentucky University. Then I moved to the sunny state of California, where I received my Doctorate in Clinical-Community Psychology from the APA-accredited program at University of La Verne. Much of my training and work experiences have focused on psychological well-being within the LGBTQIA community, and I have over 5 years of experience providing exposure therapy.
